Vannes, July 11, 2023 – Greenfib, a pioneer in coherent ecological materials, has welcomed Thierry Delerue, Jocelyn Bernard, Didier Gorneaud, Jérémy Delerue, and Frédéric Sanjivy to its capital. This follows the work of Maël Jaffrelot, a founding shareholder, supported by the fundraising service of ADI N-A (Agency for Development and Innovation of New Aquitaine).

Greenfib® has also secured a €250k seed loan from BPI, supported by the InvestEU Sustainability guarantee fund implemented by the European Investment Fund (EIF), covering 70.00% of the loan amount.

A Fundraising to Accelerate Its Impact

This fundraising will be used to “accelerate the development of projects such as BIC, which has recently launched the first reference pen, the Superclip Origin; and other eyewear brands, such as Oxo, currently sold at Écouter Voir,” says Maël Jaffrelot.

Other Greenfib® products will soon be introduced, particularly in the construction sector. These will be co-branded Greenfib® products.

“The main goal of this fundraising is to enable Greenfib® to better support our clients in transforming their products and uses,” adds Luc, co-founder of Greenfib and inventor of the material. Cyr Dioré, his long-time collaborator and inventor of the Greenfib® method, echoes this sentiment.

An Industrial and Innovative Approach

“The development cycles in the industrial sector are long and capital-intensive. While the partnership with Arkema optimizes, among other things, Greenfib®’s supply conditions, this financial contribution is crucial to maintain the development pace we have set,” says Maël Jaffrelot, responsible for brand strategy.

Other opportunities resulting from this fundraising include “the structuring of our upstream logistics and recycling systems” and “the amplification of our ecological value creation impact through a redesign of our brand universe and website,” according to Cyr.

A Strategic Committee to Oversee Development

A new development following this fundraising is the establishment of a strategic committee to effectively oversee future developments. Composed of Luc Menetrey, Cyr Dioré, Thierry Delerue, and Maël Jaffrelot, “this committee is truly here to help Greenfib® scale up, structure itself, and transform its ambition: to become the ecologically noble material of the 21st century,” says Cyr.

Greenfib’s guiding principle is: “Together, we have the material to act differently.”

About Greenfib:

Greenfib® is both the name of the material and the brand. Patented in 2011, it is positioned as an alternative to petrochemical plastics, disposable, and single-use.

Greenfib is 100% biosourced, non-competing with food, durable, recyclable through its own channels, and made in France.

It is a high-performance polymer presented in the form of pellets, including natural materials, such as plant fibers and reduced mineral charges. It is combined with an existing compound, Rilsan, based on castor oil, provided by Arkema, a partner since Greenfib®’s inception.

The company is headquartered near Poitiers and is supported by the Technopôle Grand Poitiers and the Nouvelle Aquitaine Region (Laurent Briet).
